Sissies & Diapies

The first of MANY (no doubt) Mama-made Matching Outfits.
OK - maybe a diaper does not constitute an outfit?!
Maya is modeling a Rita's Rump Flannel Fitted
Baby Genna is in an experimental 2-sizes-fits-most (S/M).
It seems to work! Mama may be onto something!
While Maya has had her moments of frustration with the new family dynamics this week - she is all love and kisses (and sniffs) to Baby Sister. Maya loves to hold her, feed her, brush her hair, burp her, and sniff her!

Genna in the Katrina Wool Soaker Pattern (size newborn).
Thanks for the yellow sweater, Aunt Sandy....CUTE!
Note - This pattern is meant to be a diaper cover. I couldn't actually fit a fitted or prefold under this (its over a *gasp* PAMPERs, just for the photo) - - Genna is already graduated from the other NB covers I have and is into small...... does this sound like a repeat of Maya!

Welcome Genevieve

Introducing

Genevieve Violet Carroll
Born Sunday, April 18, 2010 at 8:39AM
(one week late!)
8lbs, 11 oz
21" Long

Maya & Genna have 2 great-grandmother's named Genevieve.  Grandma Zubko went by "Penny" and Grandma Boyan used the nickname "Jean".

A dark haired beauty, like Grandma Carroll predicted.
She does look quite a bit like newborn Maya.... right down to the super long fingers and toes.

So far she's a sleeper!  Like Papa.

Grandpa Boyan came to visit the girls.

Maya loves to hold her baby.  She inspected and counted to make sure she had all her parts.  Feet, Hands, Eyes, Ears, Nose!

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP AUNT COURTNEY!

Easter Babies!

Coloring Eggs

The Easter babies belong to Frank & Geri.  They had 4 baby goats and 3 lambs which we visited on Easter Morning.

Lyla was just as good at picking real eggs as hunting for Easter Eggs.  Mino & Lyla were super egg hunters.  Maya was satisfied after she found a few.

Last week we jokingly mentioned to Maya to keep Sister's name a secret... not thinking that she actually would.  She knows it and goes around talking about her by name all the time.  Somehow our message stuck with her and she did not reveal it to anyone at Easter.  But she did enjoy the attention of being sly!  Now don't go calling her up this week trying to pry it out of her.... just be patient!
I am predicting baby comes Thursday!
(Update, Friday 4-9-10:  No Baby yesterday.  That'll teach me to make a prediction.... which you know I HATE to hear from other people!)
Now its back to being patient.

The Conductor

Lots of kids play with sticks.  Lots of kids (Thomas & Dinosaur Train fans in particular) will play "conductor".  We've been playing outside in the nice weather and when Maya plays with sticks, she plays "CONDUCTOR".  I'm not talking about the "All Aboard" type.... this is more of "a one and a two and a ........"
We were also playing restaurant today.  Where does Maya "drive" us to???
The Shawarma King (local Lebanese favorite).... and pretends to dip her pitas in hommus.

What a character!
