Take THAT disney princesses!

Maya just asked....

"Can I practice sewing like Mary in that Prairie Book?
Genna can be Laura and I can be Mary."

Music to my ears!!!!!!!!!

And she proceeded to "sew" a "rag doll" for "Laura's" brithday.

She was so proud that she learned to sew!

Daylight Savings still in effect!

2 weeks after Daylight Savings occurred Genna has still added a MUCH APPRECIATED hour of sleep to her morning!!!
Here's to hoping it last till November!

On a related note, Maya is already peeved that it is light out when she goes to bed at 8:00pm.

Puzzle Mix

Papa's evening routine often involves Puzzle Time.  This is their playlist of the moment.  She really wants to go see the Keys in concert.

Thank goodness, Maya has not inherited Papa's tone-deafness.  (I hope).  She often hums these tunes all day ..... on key.

GennAAAAAAHHHHH!

"I big."
That is what little Miss tells me when she tries to use the potty with no "baby" potty seat.  She can even climb up on the dang thing by herself.

Are you kidding?
Yesterday when Genna had dirty fingers I told her to go wash her hands.  Next thing I know, she's gone out the front door and has turned on the water spigot on the front porch.  Perhaps she thought this was preferable because she knows I don't like her to wash up in the bathroom unsupervised because she frequently takes the top off the soap and dumps it all out.

GENEVIEVE!
We often find ourselves using her full name, as is common for situations when little ones are misbehaving.  Today we were playing outside.  Genna went in by herself and locked the deadbolt.  Eventually she unlocked it and let me back in.  I've been meaning to hide a key outside, I guess I cannot delay on that.

Big indeed.  2 wheeler already?
"Genna, you wanna go fast?"..... "Yeah!"

26 (or more)

26 is the number of houses we've looked at since last Fall.... off the top of my head.  I am certain I've forgotten a few.  Settling on a home is a nearly impossible task (for us).  We've asked a few agents how many houses people typically look at.  One said 6-8.  Another generously said 15-20.

We've decided to relieve anymore Kalamazoo Realtors the burden of being our "buyers agent" as we've obviously wasted countless hours of a few already.  No one should be stuck with our indecisiveness and list of deal-breakers.  I'm pretty sure we can navigate the MLS ourselves from this point.  ugh!

Progress Report

We had Maya's teacher conference early this month.  It went just about as expected.  We  need to take on greater reading challenges and work more with numbers; which she is approaching with great enthusiasm.

As for Genna's progress.... she says, "I don't need no stinkin' progress report!"  (Of course)
She is talking like crazy (mostly babbling, non-stop).  But a trained ear can pick up many things she says.  In true Genna-fashion she is waiting to the last minute to catch up to milestones.
Now that the weather is pleasant and we've been outside, it only took her a couple days to get going on the tricycle.  She's not ready to pedal around the block, but Jeff suspects she'll be riding the small training-wheel bike by Fall (if he can find them).

St. Patrick's Day: A hot one for Maple-Sugaring!  But a nice day for maple ice cream at the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
