Genna's Birthday

(OH - I forgot to add..... Genna was swimming without floaties the week before her birthday.)

Genna turned 3 on 4/18.  She had been saving that toucan candle (probably not food safe) for a long time.

This was our plan for a no-fuss, pleasant, spring birthday party al fresco:

Saturday was to be FREE day at the Nature Center. We signed the girls up for their Racoon Run race at 11am. After that we were going to have some birthday cake and picnic with friends.
Then we would head over to the Park at the Oshtemo Library for the EARTHWORKS Music concert.

However, we woke up to snow on the ground, Saturday.  These tough girls bundled up for the Race but we cancelled the picnic.

Fortunately we were able to take refuge at Steve & Peggy's and had a lovely back-up birthday bash for Alex & Genna indoors.

This was the birthday present I made her.  She mostly loves the bag.

A girl, a tutu, and a flock of chickens.
The next day we went to Aunt Geri's for a farewell party for Katie who is moving to Connecticut!  Oh, we'll miss you & JJ!
Babçia, do you know our friend, Katie?

Winterish Spring

It was Maya's idea to make a heart out of their bodies.

Face painting today?  Why not!

The girls have entered an era of playing cooperatively with each other without mom having to participate.  It's WONDERFUL!  Here Genna is being the mommy (Maya loves to be a baby).
My home office

Late April "Beach day" in Michigan is 65º.  Maya actually got a sunburn.  The next day it snowed again.
