The Best

Maya has been so proud of herself lately.  It is certainly warranted, she's been practicing a lot of new things this month.

She just started a session of swim lessons.  The first time she's been on her own instead of parent/child. When we signed her up, she was still swimming with a floatie, but by the time class started she had just begun to swim by herself.  So now she is the only one in her class who swims with no floaties, thus leading her to believe she is THE BEST!  She must have forgotten her fishy cousins, Lyla and Aslan, who have been swimming since they were 3.

She also believes she is the greatest baseball player ever because she has occasionally hits 5 or 6 whiffleballs in a row.  I'll have to get her practicing with Beth Glista this summer.

Maya has also been taking off with reading.  We are having great success with BOB BOOKS.  Jeff was so surprised the first time she read a book to HIM!

Then there is Genna.....
She is the best at driving us crazy.  Here you see her as she has just mastered pedaling the big bike.  Steering is an issue.  Just ask Maya.
This also happens to be the same day she gave herself a little haircut.  Although it was a long chunk, fortunately it is rather underneath and unnoticeable.

A wonderful visit from Aunt Donna and Uncle Arnie.  A great excuse to roast marshmallows at Markin Glen County Park.
Genna did not like being sticky!  Maya didn't mind a bit.

Genna Vocab?

For a kid who doesn't talk a lot, Genna just told me to, "Go get dinner ready."

Well actually, her talking has improved exponentially in the past month.  She just was holding out past her 2 year check up so we would still have cause to book her another speech eval.... which I am contemplating canceling now.
